Easter

We were excited to be able to have Aunt Shirley come to our house for Easter dinner along with Alan's parents, Pat and Wally. It was the first time she has been to our house since last October or so. Alan was in the mood to put on a turkey dinner, so we had sort of a Thanksgiving-like Easter dinner with gravy and the whole works! It was a nice day.

Chorale Concerts

This past semester Tess has been in a University Chorale class. They had their performance in the DeJong Concert Hall at BYU where we got to hear two different groups sing. They all did a great job, although I was partial to Tess's group! She had a lot of fun with that group. Who knows, maybe one day she will end up in the same Chorale with Alan and me?

Alan and I also had a couple of spring Chorale concerts in April. We had a lot of fun practicing and performing. If you missed the concerts and would still like to hear us, you will have one more opportunity as we will be performing Saturday June 2nd in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square. Our conductor sent us a copy of one our songs we recorded and you can listen by clicking on the link.

Madeleine's birthday

On April 25th Madeleine turned "sweet 16." She really is a sweetie, but I still am amazed that she is 16 years old. Where does all the time go? Now we have another official driver in the family. Of course since Tess is home for the summer and Phillip is here, she is a little ways down on the totem pole for car privileges. We had a birthday dinner for her that night and then her neighborhood friends all got together and gave her a surprise party. So far, she seems way more interested in driving that dating -- fine with me!

College Students

Tess is home for the summer to live and to work full time saving up money for next year. She was glad to get through finals and be done with the semester, but she was sad to leave her friends and social life. As fun as we try to be, we are just not as lively a group as the college crowd is! So, she is going through a bit of a withdrawl. It is fun for us though, to have her back at home -- we missed her! She is excited however, not to have to think up and make her own dinner every night. She appreciates dinner at home more than she used to! It is obviously a good thing to have kids spend some time away from home -- right?

When I brought Tess home, I also brought my friend Melora's son Jordan home from BYU. He is getting ready for a mission in June and needed his wisdom teeth out, and it was cheaper for them to have his teeth out here in Utah rather than back in New Hampshire. So, I got to be his Mom for a week. Later his family came out for their son Tyler's wedding and they all went home together. It is always fun to spend time together.

Alan's birthday

Let's see, just how old is Alan now....hmmmm, well, let's just say, that he is closer to 50 than I am! I do like that he is always older than I am even as we are growing old together. His sweet Mom invited us all over to dinner where she served his all time favorite meal -- Halusky. Then she sent him home with leftovers which made his week. Birthdays may not be as exciting as they were when we were teenagers, but we are just glad to be here having them right? I am truly grateful that we enjoy such great health.
