School

Waterford used to have their concert on one night to include the choirs, the band and the orchestra. Then they decided to have each group have their own concert on their own night. That is all fine and good except that they are three nights in a row and we have a child in the choir, a child in the band and a child in the orchestra! So, we were lucky enough to attend three wonderful concerts in a row. The kids all did great -- we love the music program at Waterford.

Clark had fun with Egyptian Day at school where he got to dress up, mummify a stuffed animal, make a cartouche and try many exotic and strange foods.

Scout Court of Honor

Elliot has been working really hard in the New Scout program. At November's Court of Honor, he earned his Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Orienteering merit badge and First Aid merit badge. He has great leaders who are really working hard to get these boys prepared for the 12-year-old Scout program.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving weekend was really fun. To start things off, we took the family to see the new Harry Potter movie. Elliot and Clark were so excited they could hardly wait. It was actually pretty good. We saw it on the IMAX screen where (in my opinion) the only good seats are on the back row -- which is where we were!

We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner with Pat and Wally. Aunt Shirley came over later for pie. Wally barbeques the turkey and always does a really nice job. We ate and ate and ate and ate. Pat had bought a new game that we tried out and of course the pies were fabulous. Loren had made a pumpkin cheesecake to throw in the mix.

The day after Thanksgiving, we went to the temple with the kids and then spent the afternoon at Melinda's house painting closet doors. They are trying to get ready for a new baby in January and needed to shift some furniture around and the doors have needed painting for I think about 4 years now. Sadly we didin't get them done, but we made great progress that should boost them the rest of the way.

It was fun to be all together for a few days. Having Phillip home was great. Our family really enjoys being together and I enjoy having everyone under the same roof.
