School

So, school started up again this year. I think everyone is always glad after the summer to get back into the school routine. Well, at least I'm glad. Everyone has adjusted to new teachers and all the homework. Actually, it is hard to believe that we've been at it two whole months already.

New Calling

I now have a new church calling. I am the Stake Provident Living Specialist. At first, I didn't even know what that was. But, if I understand it correctly, I work with the individual ward Provident Living Specialists to assist ward members with needs and goals that fall under the Provident living circle on the church's website. So, it should be interesting to work with other leaders rather than with the people directly. I also get to spend a fair amount of time at the dry pack cannery -- that should be exciting!?

Halloween

I'm writing this on October 31st during our first snowstorm. So, I'm really glad we celebrated Halloween yesterday while the weather was much nicer. I enjoyed having it on a Saturday instead of a school night. We had plenty of time to do pumpkin carving and getting costumes ready. The kids had fun dressing up and going trick or treating. Later we all watched scary movies late into the night.

New Job

Well, Alan is changing jobs. NxLight is running out of money and time. Alan felt like it was only a matter of a few months and he may be unemployed. So, he mentioned he might be in the market for a job soon to Sister Blodgett, a member of our ward and Alan's former employer (in high school) and within a few weeks he had a job offer to work for ACS. He started November 1. Some of the time he will need to commute to Heber but most of the time he can work in Sandy or even from home. We've always wondered how we would like having him work from home -- now I guess we can find out!

Volleyball

Tess and Madeleine both played volleyball for Waterford again this year. Madeleine's team took 2nd in Region and Tess's team took 2nd in Region and 7th in State. It's a fun sport to watch and we did watch a lot of it. I think Clark got a little tired of it though. At first he wanted to go, and then he was willing to go and then we had to bribe him to go! It's all over now though and we have a whole month off before basketball starts!
