Birthday season is upon us! Clark started things off by turning 21 on February 4th, then I turned ?? on February 20th and then Elliot turned 24 on March 12th. Three down, a bunch more to go!
After serving the Lord as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clark came home Wednesday July 12th. It felt like we were waiting forever for the group of missionaries to make their way down to all the waiting families. He looked so good — it’s so great to have him home!
Clark is doing great on his mission! He is currently serving as a district leader in Tyler, Texas. He and his companion are living with a nice member couple in their home. The deal comes complete with some home-cooked meals, a dog and a piano. He is very much enjoying this nice change from apartment living! He has six months left and is anxious to finish strong. Last week was a bit hard as he said goodbye to 3 previous companions all going home on the same day.
Clark is currently serving in Corsicana Texas. He is doing well and working hard. He and his companion have hard days and good days. They are really enjoying the ward and the people they are teaching.
Who says missionaries don’t get to dress up? Elder Brown and companions surprised their ward members by sporting mustaches at the ward Halloween party.
Clark is officially on his mission! He was set apart last night and we dropped him off (pretty much a 5 minute thing) at the MTC in Provo, where he will spend the next 6 weeks learning Spanish before heading to the Texas, Dallas mission.
After 24 years of attending The Waterford School, our chapter comes to a close as Clark becomes our 6th and final graduate. Coincidentally, Nancy Heuston, the founder and head of school, is retiring this year. We feel fortunate to finish our Waterford experience along with her. It has been a privilege to know and love so many teachers and staff that have had such a great influence on us and all of our children.
Clark has received his call to serve in the Dallas, Texas Mission – Spanish Speaking! He enters the Provo MTC on July 22nd. We are so excited for him and know that this call is inspired of the Lord. He will be a great missionary!
Clark is officially an adult! He is a great kid and is finishing strong at school as he gets ready to receive a mission call next month! We’re so glad he is a part of our family…
