Birthday season is upon us! Clark started things off by turning 21 on February 4th, then I turned ?? on February 20th and then Elliot turned 24 on March 12th. Three down, a bunch more to go!
The last Sunday in February we all gathered in sunny Arizona to bless sweet little Aubrey. She looked so darling in the beautiful dress made by Trevor’s mom, Bev. I crocheted the blanket, so she was blessed by both Grandmas besides being literally blessed by her father, both grandfathers and one great grandfather. We worried that she would cry through the blessing, but as Trevor began the blessing she spit out her pacifier, smiled and looked at her Daddy during the whole blessing. What a sweetie!
November 30th 2017, Aubrey Jane Sudweeks came into the world and into our family! She was born just before 7:00 pm, weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 oz. Tess had a difficult time and Aubrey ended up being born by Cesarean Section, but everyone is doing great now and basically the challenge seems to be getting Aubrey to sleep at night instead of during the day! Tess and Trevor are thrilled to begin their family with this sweet baby girl. As the lucky Grandma, I got to spend 10 days in sunny warm AZ helping the kids and of course cuddling with Aubrey!
I’ve taken up biking. Well, let’s be honest…not biking, just riding around our neighborhood on my new bike with my cute matching helmet. But hey, it gets me out of the house, which is a good thing.
Just a few pics of the kiddos in their new Easter outfits – complete with sunglasses! This year Alan’s parents invited us to Easter dinner at their house. I was thrilled since I had to speak in sacrament meeting that morning!
The next weekend was General Conference and the kids came and had a sleepover at our house. Totally fun to have a houseful after so much quiet. In keeping with tradition (meaning we did it with Kenyon), we gave Emmy a bath in the kitchen sink. She loved it!
My sweetie offered to make me Steak Diane for my birthday. All I can say is, “Mmmm.” Oh, and “Thanks sweetie, I love you!”
Clark is officially an adult! He is a great kid and is finishing strong at school as he gets ready to receive a mission call next month! We’re so glad he is a part of our family…
Another great Christmas for the Brown Family! Oh, except that I started feeling sick in the middle of the night and spent Christmas morning lying down on the couch not eating anything…go figure. Luckily no one else got sick! Phillip, Loren, Anne and Kenyon all flew in to spend 2 weeks with us. So fun to have a little kid for Christmas – of course he loved opening presents! The best part of the day was visiting with Elliot in Peru. So fun to see and talk to him! Thanks to Madeleine for all the photos!
Madeleine spent a week with Loren, Anne and Kenyon in South Bend, Indiana, where Loren is doing an internship at Notre Dame. She also spent a couple of days visiting with a friend in Chicago on her way home. Of course, she took a few photos…well okay, she actually made a movie….

This is Clark’s last “First Day of School” picture as he begins his Senior year of High School. I was telling him the other day that everything he does now is going to the be for the “last” time for me. He was quick to remind me that everything he’s done his whole life has been for the “last” time for me. True. Happy sad times all rolled into one.
