Christmas
Dance
Both Phillip and Loren were asked to The Waterford
Winter Dance by a couple of nice Senior girls. Instead of dining out, they
decided to all cook their dinner together (they belong to a gourmet cooking club
-- if you want to see the club in action, check out the day they
made fondue). Tess also went to the dance
with a group of girl friends (common practice at Waterford dances) -- they all
got their hair "done." A fun night for everyone!
Morgan Family Christmas
Party
The Morgan group is growing! This year we had Melinda's
husband Jared join our family, bringing the total number to 30. That is quite a
few people to invite to a party -- especially considering that 16 of them are 8
years old or younger. Go ahead and call it a tad rowdy...! We all had a great
time, except maybe for Jared, who was recovering from recent gall bladder
surgery -- so much for his first Christmas with the family!!
Christmas with the
Browns
Every year we have an "early" Christmas with Alan's
parents at their house having breakfast, opening gifts and playing games
together. This year we had our traditional Christmas breakfast for dinner due to
the fact that Alan and I spent most of the previous night in the ER and didn't
get to bed until three, with Alan continuing to feel unwell until about six. So,
he spent the morning recovering and finally felt well enough to head over to
Grandma's in the afternoon. Why were we in the ER? Well, Alan got a bout of the
24 hr. flu and couldn't stay ahead in the fluids department. He ended up
severely dehydrated on the bathroom floor leaving me to call 911. They showed up
and gave him a ride to St. Mark's Hospital. It was all a little too exciting for
me and for a few of the neighbors! With three liters of saline solution, a few
more immodium pills, and a priesthood blessing, Alan started to improve and made
a full recovery. Sorry, but we only have pictures of opening gifts -- I didn't
think to take my camera to the hospital -- ha ha!
Christmas Eve and
Morning
As always, Santa found us again. We always have such
nice Christmases -- we are truly blessed. This year my sister Melinda didn't
stay over with us -- she has Jared now you know -- but we did have Alan's newly
widowed Aunt Shirley come and spend the night with us, so she wouldn't be alone.
I think she had a great time and seemed to enjoy spending the morning with us in
her pajamas. The best part of the morning for Elliot and Clark seemed to be
running around putting spells on all of us with their new Harry Potter wands!
Christmas
Card
We did send out a Christmas card this year -- a tad late,
due to the ER experience. We hope you got one. If you didn't, or heaven forbid,
you want to read it again, click here.
