Melinda’s Engagement
Dinner
Yes, it is true! My sister Melinda is engaged to be
married July 31st to Jared Crapo, who we all agree is a very
nice boy. They were lined up by his co-worker and my sister Melanie who has
always been faithfully on the prowl for possible suitors! This lineup was
successful and the wedding plans march happily on.
Melanie decided that we should have a engagement dinner for them, and so she reserved a room at a great restaurant called Rivers where we had great food and great fun - some at the expense of the guests of honor. Melanie had them wearing top hat and veil and we all had champagne glasses filled with chocolate hugs and kisses. She also invited us all to come with a small gift to be part of a "survival kit" for Jared to be able to survive being a member of the Morgan family. We also brought pieces of advice (or wisdom?) to share with Melinda. It was a fun evening and we would make it a tradition except for the fact that she is that last sibling to get married. Oh well...
Loren and Phillip’s
Birthday
More birthdays at our house. Our oldest boys
turned 17 and are threatening to leave home in a year or so. With all the talk
of college around here, it would be easy to forget that they still have their
Senior year to finish. Maybe talking about it this early will help prepare us
for when it actually happens. Well, for the birthday dinner we ordered Chinese
food and ate with chopsticks. After dinner the boys opened their gifts and blew
out the candles on their Frontier pies. (Easiest dinner and dessert I ever
made!!!) Grandma Pat and Grandpa Wally came over to celebrate with us and we had
a great evening enjoying the view of the city from our deck.
