Our Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve dinner celebrated on December 31st!
Tess is doing her best to stay alert for the evening, but jet leg is threatening to overcome....
Grandma made all the kids BYU fleece blankets last year, so Tess got hers this year. Grandmothers never forget about anyone!
The gang in a bit of an "after-dinner food coma" as Madeleine is fond of saying.
We didn't really have a program this year - everyone was tired from staying up until 1:00 the night before celebrating Tess's homecoming.
Alan worked hard on the dinner and spearheaded the cleaning up. I appreciate all his help and all the help from the kids -- I sort of had the night off.
It was a fairly relaxing Christmas Eve.
We traditionally give our kids their "Gift from the Heart" on Christmas Eve. This year Alan wrote and gave his life history to everyone. Of course he hopes to have much more "life," so his history just covers the first 50 years.
He did a wonderful job and it is really fun to read about his childhood. It is also interesting to see where his memories differ from his parents and even from mine as he recalls our wedding and the arrival of our children. But as he said, it is a work in progress and he is happy for any corrections. I'm so proud of him for accomplishing this life goal of his.
