Pickety Place in Mason, New Hampshire, This house was the inspiration for the illustrations of the 1948 English edition of Little Red Riding Hood by Elizabeth Orton Jones.
Melora and I enjoyed a yummy lunch there -- a favorite tradition of ours!
Our beach house in Maine -- just a short walk to the beach.
I loved the driveway....
Isn't it cool?! Melora's rain boots are cool too!
Of course we had to stop at "The" L.L. Bean store.
Portland Head Lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. What is up with all the rain? It was pouring!
The beach across the street from our house. The morning after the storm, the beach was covered with huge clams just sitting on the surface for anyone who wanted to go home and make some wonderful clam chowder...
no digging necessary!
Some beautiful Fall Foliage.
A picnic on Old Orchard Beach, Maine -- it was a bit breezy, but gorgeous!
We saw from some postcards that in the summer months these beaches are packed with tourists. We pretty much had it all to ourselves!
Biggest pumpkin I've seen this fall -- what about you?
Perusing a weathervane store.
Gorgeous trees at a beautiful cemetery.
More fall foliage -- Thomas took these...
