Our hotel was 2 short blocks from Fisherman's Warf.
As soon as we arrived we headed straight for the Boudin Sourdough bakery where we had yummy clam chowder in their famous sourdough breadbowls.
The famous Pier 39 -- a very fun and festive atmosphere.
Coit Tower. We walked up to the tower from Pier 39. We took a couple of Ben and Jerry waffle cones with us to sustain us while we climbed!
The veiw of the opposite side of Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world) as we walked up Lombard street to Coit Tower.
The view of Alcatraz and Pier 39 from the top of Coit Tower. Yeah, we were tired -- and then we had to walk back down the hill and to our hotel. I need to get better walking shoes!
Alan enjoying a bowl of Cioppino -- his favorite seafod/Italian dish!
Alcatraz from Fisherman's Warf.
Alcatraz as we were arriving on our boat.
Ready to head up the hill for the audio tour.
The photo isn't great, but it says, "Break the rules and you go to prison, break the prison rules and you go to Alcatraz."
The three levels of cells.
