After finishing the tour, we had some dinner and then headed out to Tybee Island to see the light house.
The sun was getting ready to set, making the sky pretty. This lighthouse was rather inland. I think I prefer the ones right out on the edge of the coast!
Here I am about to enjoy my milk chocolate raisin cluster. We all had a yummy treat for on the way home.
Another beautiful day, so out we went with the frisbee.
The wind was making my ears cold, so I look like little white riding hood!
On our way back up the boardwalk to the hotel.
The beautiful pools were too cold to swim in, but there was a heated lap pool that we did get to spend some time in.
And of course, the jacuzzi pool was great!
We did actually get one warm afternoon that we were comfortable sitting out in the sun reading for a few minutes.
This is the bit of a coastal view we had from our balcony.
Heading into the Fort Sumter National Monument Museum.
This is an actual size replica of the flag that was flown over Fort Sumter. The real one is falling apart, but is rolled up and preserved in the long box below that has a window where you can see a piece of it. Elliot and Clark are checking it out.
They did a really nice job explaining all the history -- the slaves, the cotton and the war.
Getting ready to take the ferry out to Fort Sumter. You can see the cool bridge in the background. The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western Hemisphere.
We took along a picnic lunch to eat on the ferry.
