Our cute "Cottage by the sea."
Alan coming out our back door facing the ocean.
Our first walk on the beach down to the pier.
Trying to take our own photo like all the kids do.
It was actually quite cold that day and very windy, which made my ears sting and burn until I got smart and put all my hoods on!
Back up on the path to our cottage -- the tan buildings in the middle behind the white fence.
The landscaping around our cottage was beautiful. I love seeing stuff in bloom in February. If you look hard, you can see the pier down the beach.
Our Valentine dinner. Alan had Cioppino -- his favorite seafood dinner. He "collects" them wherever we go.
I signed up for the chicken with prosciutto ham, asparagus, mushroom and marsala sauce -- yum.
This is the "overview" of Hearst Castle. The pool in the left hand corner is the coolest thing!
You pay for the tour and get on the bus that takes you up the hill to the castle.
The Neptune Pool is impressive...
I'm sure it is even more spectacular on a gorgeous sunny day.
The ground were maticulous. I loved seeing orange and lemon trees everywhere!
They let us take pictures inside if we didn't use our flash. All the furnishing were imported from Europe and many of them hundreds of years old.
He had lamps made from actual gregorian chants. They were pretty cool actually.
