What a cute group I get to travel with huh?
On to the Library of Congress.
This is an amazing building.
The Library of Congress was the first building to have electric lights in Washington DC. People came just to see the lights. It is gorgeous inside.
Of course they won't let you take pictures of the actual library, so this is a postcard. It was so cool!
Next stop, The Supreme Court. We almost managed to have the stairs to ourselves. How come all the buildings have columns and look like they are made out of marble?
We got to sit in the actual supreme court room and listen to the scoop. Turns out the highest court in the country is the basketball court that is over the ceiling of the Supreme Court room! Bet you didn't know that...This is a miniature recreation on diplay because of course, no photos.
We had fun figuring out the Metro system in DC. It was pretty easy actually and parking would have been a nightmare, so we were happy...except when Mom was trying to take our picture.
Having dinner in our hotel room - I think Madeleine was tired of having her picture taken - can you blame her?!
Of course we had to watch a movie on the laptop one night - guess what we chose? National Treasure!
Here is a cut-out of the White House tour showing the rooms that we got to see.
Unfortunately we could only get 3 tickets. Tess, Phillip and I were the lucky ones that got to go in.
