The rest of the group were good sports and waited outside for us.
I like the back the best - especially the round part which on the first floor is the "Blue Room" which was one of the rooms we did get to see. Notice with the next shot how great my new zoom is!
The Blue Room up close - you can almost see in the room!
Next we got to hear the Park Ranger tell us all about Ford Theatre which is actually a National Park.
Of course the one day that we are at the Ford Theatre they would be working on the booth where Lincoln was sitting when he was assassinated. I think it ususally looks a lot better -- no ladders, etc!
Clark waiting with me to hear the Ranger give us the lecture. It was a neat place to visit.
We drove to Pittsburgh and arrived on Matt and Elasha's youngest daughter's first birthday. Her name is Anna. Their other kids are Talmage and Julia. We had a little party with cake and ice cream to celebrate.
We spent a morning at the Carnegie Science Center where they had lots of hands on stuff for Talmage and Julia, Elliot and Clark.
An infra-red picture of us all. I'm the one with the camera!
Behind the science center is a real torpedo submarine. We took the kids on the tour which they thought was really cool. You can see downtown Pittsburgh in the background.
Here are the kids down below in the submarine's mess hall. It was amazing to us that so many men could eat and sleep in such cramped quarters.
Then we all drove the next day to Philadelphia by way of Hershey Pennsylvania. Of course we had to stop and take the Chocolate World Tour!
